Brats in penang -Part 3

This final instalment of BRATs is a tribute to all the wonderful people who had made this camp such a great experience....

* * * * * *

Presenting you my room mates~

Jasmine Lim, our pretty Samaritan. She kindly offered to sleep on the floor on the first day when the hotel made a mistake and provided us with only two beds...

Every morning, she will be the first to rise to wash her long, long hair...

...while May and I can be found sleeping like dead, refusing to drag our butt out from the soft, warm bed.

Well, May more deader than me la. I blowed bubbles into her face also she couldn't wake up!! This woman actually needs three alarms to get up!!

And when she did get up...

...foom!!

Frankenstein's new Bride!!

Wakakakaka!!

I also look equally messy here, if not worse, with my mouth stinky stinky all~

Believe that if I breath on you, you can pengsan onot??

Yes, be very VERY afraid of me...Muahahaha..!!

When we finally gotten dress to go downstairs to makan, Kei will be up joining us after her breakfast...

Fine fine, most of the time it is my fault... I'm always the slowest to get ready... Very time want to go downstairs hor, sure got problem... Contacts cannot masuk la, forgotten my notebook la, my hair not neat la...

So the girls end up waiting for me forever~

Fun facts!!
- Jasmine...is the name of a flower... Haha!! just testing...
Jas is 17, , learns yoga, superb photographer, one of the top ten winner for Nuffnang's happy moments, a wonder woman...
- May, 16, is from Taiping and regretted watching late night movie because she couldn't open her eyes the next day.
- Kei, also 16, is mixed Iban, worships Chelsea and think Liverpool are big cheats. Or izzit the other way round?
- All of them are single and eligible.

"Oh boy, I'm in for seconds!" Kei's fantastic stomach... She can ploink down beside you and suddenly starts talking about her superior digestive system...

She also have one truck load of cacated riddles. For example...

Kei : (pointing at her index finger) Do you know why *some footballer's name* can't dig his nose with this finger?"
Me : Because it's too big and his nostril too small?
Kei : No.
Me : He prefers his pinkie?
Kei : No.
Me : Give up.
Kei : Because it is my finger! Hahahahaha!!
Me : ..........

Our last assignments...

The Annoyance did a sound slide of 200-year-old Kapitan Keling Mosque. It is HUGE and stunning. This is just one of it's tower.

Hoo-Ha's did about Penang's Services - The ferry!!

And Group 2 (forgotten the name, sorry Sandra~) went up to Penang Hill!!

While we, the Newsflash 10, did about...

...a jetty.

No la no la, it was nice and we had a lot of fun!! Just felt a little HOT... Well, when I sweat my body odour very stinky wan ok...

I shall do a little recap, seeing that you can get the full story of what we saw in the newspaper or in Michelle's blog... I find Michelle's more interesting (no offence~), she'll add in what we did too, like Kel Vin kena called monkey, the bus broke down because the guys were too heavy, how we plan to fling locomotive into the sea... and many many more!!

We did about Chew Jetty. This is one of Chew clan's many temples. That's Ming Yuen... And no, he was NOT proposing to me. We were both quite suprise to see there is a Journey to the West Temple too.

I love mystical creatures!!

The Chews are fervent worshipers and ardent fans of feng shui. This particular temple is for health and well beings of the villagers.

This time, Mr Harry and Mr Leong accompanied us to the jetty.

...they were very kind, always waiting up for me. I was lagging behind, as usual, taking nonsense. And they were going "Nevermind, nevermind, take your time." So good!! My two burly bodyguards!! ngek ngek...Who dares to make fun of me now?? I ask Mr Leong to whack you with a sampan!!

Kei, our stand upper!! She's even taller than that guy weh...

You can check out this video of Chew Jetty
here.

And there is also an article of Chew Jetty did by Michelle, Ming Yuen and May...link

Chew Hall

There are 7 different clans: The Chew (the largest), Lim, Koay, Tan, Lee, Yeoh, Koay and Peng Aun...

There used to be more jetties, but the government had reclaim the land and demolished some of these historical landmarks to make way for development...

So cute!! A cute pink temple on the jetty!

Wooden houses

Life had not change much for these people ever since they came to Penang in the mid-1900s. Did you know some of these house are more than 100 years old?? But the people are quite advance, having access to Internet and Astro. They can speak English wan, alright?

Old folks...

...are my all time favourite!! You'll never know what strange things they will they do next. =P

And of all the time it could pick, my camera battery had to conk out on the jetty. Ditto the Nikon that were provided.

Mr Din came along and taught me how to conserve battery - Quickly snap, stop previewing!!

Mr Din, you are my hero!! Can I trade camera with you??

I managed to save enough to...

...camwhore!! Yay!! memories with Taiping babe.

This is Julian!! He's mixed, with a chinese name - Julian Lim. No A/L, no alias~

I'd just discovered he is a fellow aikidoker too!! Same kyu with me somemore!!

By the way, I stole those shades~ =P

Again, photo credits to Michelle. WHY SHE GOT SO MANY NICE PICTURES?
We were chilling out the temple after the interview, and I was talking to Mr Chew and Mr Harry in front of the temple entrance, only both kena block out by the lion...
You should hear about their lion and drogon episode... Hillarious weh!!

Excerpt from Miux...
Brats: So Mr Chew, is that the 2 dragons you mentioned earlier on?

Mr Chew: No, those are the lions. The dragons are there. (pointing to the rooftop with 2 obviously huge dragons)

* * * * * *

Later at night....

...we were 'Aiyo Ping Pong Piang'-ed! Traditional BRATs game for the very last night.

Group 2...

...was the worst. Noooo!! Our face were continuously plastered with masking tape, thanks to me and our very own legendary brat, Vinodtha.

But the worst was the flour and water combination...

...caking on our face!! Arrgh I tell you, argh!!!! When that horrible icky stuff hardens and you try to kopek it off...

*ouch ouch!! &%@$%#@!!*

* * * * * *

~Seniors nite fever~

One night, we spotted this...

Spongebob on Whiteboard!!!!

Question is...

Who drew Spongebob???

Miuky?

Nah, this faker only trying to claim credit... And that's Diyana with her Patrick! Omg, her Patrick is so fat and cute!! *squish squish*

Haha, I can't resist this la *evil smirk*... Forgive me~

Faker's friend's drawing...

Eeeeeee, wad an ugly insane lookin' cow..!! Just look at the lips... so thick!!!!

"No, I must destroy Spongebob! add something!"

So did we... And we all started chipping in..!!

*conteng conteng conteng*

Jeng jeng!! Our masterpiece!!

Not bad hor? And yup, that's suppose to be Gary... Hey, I'm drawing from memory kay...
On top of Spongebob is half of Plankton's body. Drawn by Tammy!!

And now shall reveal to you...

The true artist!!

Ah Gan!! The super talented senior!!

Haha Miuky, we sussed you out, you evil Spongebob stealer!!

Tada!!

bubbles~

And Niki finally decided join in the fun!!

Bugs Bunny!! Haha!! Don't their teeth look alike???
And ya, you can see Super Pig, "I am Super Pig, I can make you smell!!"
and a bit of Plankton's head at the left corner..

And the last day...

Sweet~

Jasmine with her senior, Diyana. Diyana is only 18!! And Jas, you honestly look like my friend la..!

Lookie~

This is Wai Ling....Sama muka, right right??

The 4th senior is called Muzani, or Muz for short...
When I first heard his name, I thought it was spelt as Moose, you know, like in Archie's comics?
And I was looking out for a big hunking guy with horns that goes "duh~" every few seconds...

But turn out...

Aik, so cute and so skinny~

Hor hor, that shows you not to simply draw assumption base on what you hear.

This Ian Yee.
He's cool, I like him!! He is always helping us out with rhe videos and stuff. And he is constantly there to remind us that he is the youngest among the Star team.

*read his shirt!!*

I like him too! He always have this cute smile on his face!!
He is adorable, he is Yew Chong~!

I don't like him, because he's too tall and makes my head look shrunken and retarded~

Tried a different tact...

Argh!! Now you make me look like a gaint!!
You failed in your camwhoring test Miuky, hear me?? FAILED!!!!

Pui Yee!! I'd heard many interesting stories from her!! And she fantabuluosly manage to cajole the driver to let them ride the earlier tram.

This is Kel Vin, our editor. He fed us with some bird's **** the day when we finally got the chance to savour authentic Penang food.

Cast your peeper over this horrible scene...
Kel Vin ll Brats sitting same table as him, including me

Wow, this chicken is nice. *munchmunchmunch*
Really?? Let me try!!
Eh, nice la, not bad...
Why all same shape wan?
What did you order, Kel Vin?
I dunno. I saw all the pieces quite big, so I asked the lady to give me the small bits...
Wait...Oh WHAT THE *tut* WE ARE EATING CHICKEN BACKSIDES!!!!!

x.x... So much for authentic Penang Food...

Anyway, this photo was curi-ed from Kei who claim it was Wei Kang who took it...
Haha Kei, maybe he overheard our gossip, the part where you said someone is something...!

Michelle, our sub-editor!! She is the hard worker, doing everything for us to make sure everything runs smoothly... Thanks Michelle!! Sorry I didn't help much..

Tammy!! She is soooo cute!! When I first saw her I thought she was only 13 or 14!!

No need to say me too, thank you... I know I have that young look disease. *curses*

That's Debra behind us. Her laugh is...how to describe...terrific. In fact, I can feel myself cracking up now. With that height, I bet that's Miux again!! Why are you stalking my camera..

Wei Kang!! The video guy... (He is lousy in catching teddy biscuits I threw at him.)
Our very own Asian terrorist, along with Julian. Super funny la our sketch... Except some people inteprete our innocent gesture into something so hamsap..!!

There were many more BRATers, however I tak sempat camwhore with all of them. Some had to rush back, most were busy getting contacts. So one last desperate attempt...

*click*

That's Mikha (in brown shirt), he talks really really fast. But thanks to him and Kel Vin (in black), our video and sound slide turn out so chun!!

That's Stephanie, in grey. She also doesn't look her age. She's talking to Hui Fern.

And the guy in red is, um...I kinda forgotten his name. He is real shy and quite, I didn't get to talk much with him.

And that's May Khei, walking toward me... Once more she kena rasuk... Haiz haiz..

Let you see her kawaii kawaii little pix!! Nah!!

Peace!! Love you all!!

I was surfing through blogs when I stumbled upon this groupie.

This was our second day when we were doing the sound clip of Chowrasta Market. We took so much photos until it was a chore for us to choose only 60. We were seriously stress because it was so hard to scale down when there is so many great pictures, so Ian was helping us out.
Oh ya, here is an unrelated incident that occurred on the same day. I was unaccompanied that time, waiting for the lift on 14th floor with this weird Arabian guy clutching his coffee cup. Seeing that he and I were alone, he got chummy and started asking me questions like how old am I.... Ever as friendly, I answered him 19. And guess what brainless question he asked after that?

Weirdo: Are you married?

Not again?? Do I look married to you huh?? I fat izzit, I look pregnant to you izzit?

Me: Uh... No, we Asian don't get married so early. 19 is too young, hahahaha!

How in the world I manage to laugh, I have no idea. Haven't his momma thought him how not to ask stupid questions? Maybe I should ask him to join BRATs. But I think he detected my fake laugh, coz he got wise and started asking more prudent question. Until...

Wiser Weirdo (WW) : So, are you warrking?

Me : Huh?

WW: Are you warrking, *pronouncing slowly and clearly* warrr-king?

Me : I'm sorry, I'm no warrior, nor war king. Malaysia peaceful country, no war.

WW: That is why I am here. I here to bomb Malaysia!!!

Me : Really? Then I'm here to aikido you down, wa-cha!

WW: *ran back to Arabia with his coffee cup.*

Actually, that is not quite true. I discovered later what he was asking was whether I am working or not.

Yo.

How in the world am I suppose to understand your slang?

And ya dude, I'm working, man....

Author's note

I didn't elaborate much on testimonials because I thought there are none better than
Michelle's and Miux's, or any others who had exploit our good points to the max. We are angels in their blogs, you know...haha!! But put in simply, I love my team members and I applaud them for all their effort and hard work they put in to pull through all those impossible assignments. We are first batch to complete all 8, rawr!! Facilitators and seniors, thanks for all the help!!! We had a blast!!!
And I want to thank a special someone who had made my dream of being part of the BRATs' family come true... I am truly sorry for all the troubles I caused to you. Thank you.

If you ever get the opportunity to be a BRAT, grab it I tell you, grab it and never let go!!!! And you’ll find yourself a changed person, never the same again... And that, I can attest to you~

*peace sign*

P/s : Miux is actually a nice senior. Nicest nicest senior in the entire universe. You can never wish for a better one.=)... Alright, can you can stop calling me cheesy now?

Time to go home, to our saparate ways....='(

Enjoying the breeze

Took a ferry across to Butterworth..

Manage to take my very own picture of Penang bridge at last.

Goodbye Penang...

...and thanks for all plesant memories you had given me.

Oh, by the way...

my name was spelt wrongly, Niki...
